What a great Homecoming week we had at Denmark High School! Students, families, community members, and many alumni celebrated our current students as well as our district's rich history throughout the past week. The week included the following student activities: hallway decorating, dress-up days, lunch period competitions, and numerous athletic and co-curricular events.
Fox 11's Gabriella Premus visited our high school Tuesday morning to spotlight our Homecoming week on Good Day Wisconsin. Our student council, band, and fall athletics teams were spotlighted during four different segments throughout the morning.
Friday was filled with Homecoming activities. Student Council provided students with an energetic pep assembly that included numerous grade-level competitions - blindfolded musical chairs, chariot races, tug-of-war, school song chant, powderpuff football, buffball volleyball, and a cornhole tournament. Our community was outstanding as many attended our Homecoming parade Friday afternoon; students from the elementary, middle school, and high school participated in the parade. Our Homecoming week ended with our Homecoming dance, "Dancing Through the Decades", which spotlighted the 2022 Homecoming court.
Our athletics teams had a great Homecoming week! Volleyball won their Homecoming game against Clintonville. Girls golf competed in the WIAA tournament, with Lilly Kaminski qualifying for the state championship tournament. Boys soccer has set a program record for wins this season, and cross country has had an excellent fall as well.
Thank you to all those that made Homecoming week a success! (A special thank you goes out to Mr. Otradovec and the DHS Student Council, Mrs. Albers, Officer Dzekute, the Class of 2023, the 2022 Homecoming Court, Chartwells Food Service, the Denmark Legion Post 363, the Denmark Fire Department, and the Denmark Police Department.) #OnwardDenmark
