The construction class attended an "externship” at the Local 139 Operating Engineers Training Center in Coloma, Wisconsin. Our students heard from instructors, operators, and business leaders throughout the state on the possibility of becoming an operator. Students learned about the current payscale ($45.22/hr.), benefits ($25.52/hr.), and opportunities within the field. Students also had the opportunity to operate some mini excavators and show off their skills! The day showcased another high paying, highly skilled career path within the trades.
