On Friday the 14th, Brady Bellow and Eric Allen participated in the Green Bay All City Jazz Band. They were selected out of the Denmark High School jazz students to represent Denmark in this inaugural jazz experience. In total there were 22 students from 8 different schools. They definitely proved their great love of music and their musical abilities by preparing 6 college level charts in one practice together.
Then on Saturday the 15th, the Denmark Jazz Band traveled to UW-Green Bay for the jazz festival. During the day they performed for and received feedback from multiple professional jazz musicians, including a master class with members of Blood, Sweat & Tears and a personalized clinic with trumpeter Kevin Short. Later they performed for an audience of their peers from other local high schools and jazz community members in the festival’s student concert. They ended the night as audience members in the Weidner watching incredible performances by Pegasis and the world-renowned Blood, Sweat & Tears. They are looking forward to participating again next year!
