About

Mission Statement

Viking Academy is a cutting-edge learning community where students actively drive their own education by pursuing their passions. Our students become purposeful adults by integrating creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication into standards-based academic pursuits.

Vision

Viking Academy is a learning community where students become purposeful adults through creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.

Student-centered, Project-Based Learning— Academics and student interests are incorporated into projects that require research, problem-solving, and collaboration with peers, along with tapping into the insight and knowledge of local and global experts. Using the natural environment and latest technology, students learn in a flexible manner that fosters independence and time management.

Relationships—Students begin to see their role in the larger community through a focus on relationships, family events, programs that promote health and wellness, environmental stewardship, and service learning opportunities.

Modern Space & Tools—In addition to a school design that specifically enhances both collaboration AND independence, cutting-edge technology offers students opportunities to document and analyze fieldwork, create and design professional-level multimedia projects, and produce high-quality products that share and showcase their knowledge.
