Denmark MS National Junior Honors Society
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll society, the NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.
To be eligible for membership consideration, a student must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or better. Additionally, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Students are invited to complete an application form to be considered for membership. The Faculty Council, consisting of at least five Denmark Middle School staff members, will review each application for the established criteria.
Once selected for membership, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. Members will also be required to attend one meeting a month during the school year while attending Denmark Middle School.
Membership in NJHS does not guarantee membership in NHS at the high school level.
